Piku....

A headstrong.. Somewhat stubborn and overtly manipulating father who is in constant verbal conflict with his modern, yet traditional , equally strong headed daughter who does not seem to have control over her mercurial temper. Some days taken from the complicated, emotionally charged , funny yet frustrating lives of Bhaskor Banerjee and His loved daughter make a very captivating watch. As the plot thickens we discover that the daughter is in constant search for an anchor who will perfectly compliment her weird life and adopt her 70 yr old extensively demanding yet loving  in weird ways, Father. She has her own set of expectations from life which get entangled with her sense of responsibility, love and care for her father. On the other hand Bhaskor Banerjee appears to be a very liberated man , who believes that a woman's purpose in life is much bigger than getting married and serving her man. One reason which he cites for not not really pushing her kid for marriage. All this mixed with a bunch of relatives including one ultra modern yet caring Mashi, a servant Bodhon whose presence is mechanical , kaki kaku who bring some elements of drama to the plot. The highlight of the entire script is Rana Chowdhary who runs this taxi service company and is entangled in Ty complexities of his own life. He tries his luck in impressing the moody , somewhat  arrogant Banerjee Gurl but does not really succeed till a series incidents lead them to a long road trip to Kolkata where their emotional threads somewhat make a knot and an unspoken bond develops. What's intersting is the chemistry between Rana and Senior Banerjee which fluctuates from doubt to anger , to care and does not really get an absolute color. Another relationship which is seemingly sweet is that of Bhaskor and Chobi Masi who do not really like each other on the face but have extreme concern for each other. The climax has been very finely layered wth the death of Bhaskor Banerjee which is heart breaking for every daughter , yet the fact that he dictated the circumstances to let him breathe his last breath at his house in kolkata and went away happy , at peace has been extremely comforting. A gurl who loves her father a lot inspite of having differences and arguments daily , grows into a strong independent woman and is able to cope up wth his demise and has something to look for in her life ... Thts PIKU. Wonderful plot very well woven with a myriad of emotions and has  shown an amazing equation between a father and daughter. Humor, pain , frustration , happiness and peace all served in one platter.
